The Mustang Island shoreline follows along the Gulf of Mexico from the
Port Aransas Jetty all the way to the Packery Channel which
divides Mustang Island and North Padre Island. Entering on to the Nueces
County Beaches of Mustang Island can be accomplished several ways. From
the Port Aransas Jetty or Horace Caldwell Pier just
continuing to follow the beach road keeps you on the Mustang Island
Shoreline. Avenue G will also bring you to the beach, turn right or
south and continue along the beach. Sand conditions can be soft at
times. Beach Access Roads 1 and 1A also provide beach access further
south of Avenue G. Beach Access Roads are paved and connect to State Hwy
361.
The Mustang Island shoreline will provide an opportunity to see many
coastal bird species. Plovers, sandpipers, terns, herons, gulls along
with other species can be seen along the shoreline.
